To us, this impact can be measured most effectively against the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) and are a driving force in how we model our business efforts. What We Stand For

Beautiful design created to last. Ethical production. Positive impact before profits. Every designer and brand needs to take extreme responsibility for the product they put into the world from the path to purchase to the path beyond the purchase. For us, no product should cause any harm to people or planet in its entire life cycle. Sustainability is the buzzword of the day, but what does it really mean within the context of The Together Project? For us, we take a holistic approach to the definition, focusing on the impact the production of an item has across the following key areas: SOCIAL, ENVIRONMENTAL, CULTURAL. SOCIAL

Brands should be able to show evidence of placing emphasis on the fair treatment of their workers and be able to trace their supply chain. Fair wages, worker safety, gender equity, and a formal statement on workers’ rights are key. Forced and child labour is flatly banned from The Together Project platform.

CULTURAL

Priority is given to Women, BIPOC, and LGBTQIA owned businesses. Brands highlighting the preservation of an indiginous artform must be at least partially-owned by the community where the craft originates from. We have no time for cultural appropriation nor white saviourism.

ENVIRONMENTAL

The use of sustainable materials, especially recycled or upcycled is of utmost importance, as is the brand showing efforts in reducing emissions, water consumption, and waste/wastewater production in their supply chains. When animal products are used, they are by-products of the food industry, non-mulesed wool, and non force-fed feather. Fur and exotic skins are not accepted on The Together Project platform.

Empowering brands to improve their positive impact initiatives

Our point of difference is that we work with brands collaboratively so we can all keep improving. No brand is perfect, and by mentoring brands to improve their business practices, we’re striving to put people and planet first. We offer education for brands passionate about improving path to purchase and path beyond purchase. We believe we need to be constantly reassessing and re-evaluating how we can do better, be better. By rethinking together, we’re a tool to change how we design, brand, sell and consume products.

The Conscious Tax and Transparent Pricing

We charge a 20% commission and standard processing fee to our brand partners on each order once the products have sold. Charities and NGOs working on a donation-only cause will not be charged except for process fees only.

Every 12 months at The Together Project we support five organisations who are doing groundbreaking work out in the field. With every purchase you make, we donate and invest from The Together Project’s commission fee (5%) of the product sale to a conscious tax to contribute further to a better and kinder world.

Planting Forests Together

We need nature more than ever. This is a way you contribute to carbon offsetting your purchase. At checkout you are charged US$1 to support planting more trees on our earth. We support Eden Reforestation Projects – a nonprofit whose mission is to provide fair wage employment to low socioeconomic communities who they hire to grow, plant, and guard to maturity native species forests on a massive scale.
